Facilities Self Service

The Facilities Self Service (FSS) is an online, one-stop-shop customer service portal for requesting assistance from Facilities Management. The user-friendly portal allows you to enter a work order or check the status of a previously submitted work order.

Submit a new routine work order

Use your eID and password to login into the FSS to submit a new work order. 

If you have questions about an existing request and do not find appropriate information in the FSS, please contact the Physical Plant Operations Center at (804) 828-9444 or e89444@vcu.edu.

To request service in a residence hall, you must be an active VCU student. Read more information or receive assistance with your eID.

Submit an emergency work order 

Emergencies include, but are not limited to: fire, smoke, chemical or other hazardous material spills, flooding or uncontrolled water, and power outages. 

Emergencies should immediately be reported to the Physical Plant Operations Center by calling (804) 828-9444.

How do I report a problem in my building?
All routine problems should be reported via the Facilities Self Service. Emergencies should be reported to the call the Operation Center by calling (804) 828-9444.

How do I report an overflowing or stopped up toilet?
Call the Operations Center at (804) 828-9444.

How do I get help if I am locked out of my office after hours?
Call the VCU Police Department at (804) 828-1234.

How do I get help when locked out of my residence hall?
If you are locked out of your room during office hours (Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.), visit your resident hall’s housing office to borrow a key for up to 30 minutes. If you are locked out your room after hours or on a weekend, visit the information desk in your residence hall. The desk assistant will then contact the on-call resident assistant to meet you in the lobby and escort you to your room to unlock the door.

How do I submit a request for restroom supplies (e.g., toilet paper and paper towels) to be refilled?

How do I submit a request to adjust the building temperature (i.e., too hot or too cold)?

How do I request that furniture be replaced?
Contact your department or school.

How do I report a water or gas leak?
Immediately call the Operations Center at (804) 828-9444.

How do I report a building emergency (e.g., a flood, water, fire or smoke)?
Immediately call the Operations Center at (804) 828-9444.
