About us

Construction Management oversees the construction, renovation and restoration of buildings and infrastructure at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). The unit ensures that contractors adhere to the approved project design and the highest-quality construction standards while complying with state code, construction and contract requirements. Construction Management is also responsible for the demolition of buildings that are no longer required to achieve the university’s mission or whose removal will make way for new facilities.

  • Capital Construction oversees VCU’s Capital Outlay Program consisting of construction projects included in VCU’s Six-Year Plan or projects with a total project cost of $2 million or more, inclusive of all necessary expenditures. Learn more.
  • Maintenance Reserve addresses the need for an on-going financial commitment to cover deferred maintenance needs within state facilities. Learn more.
