Geographic information systems

OSM utilizes geographic information systems (GIS) to create, manage, analyze, map and maintain spatial and geographic data for the university to include building footprints, land parcels, utilities, sidewalks and other infrastructure. To do so, OSM works closely with a variety of VCU departments, including Administration, the Real Estate Foundation, Facilities Management and others.
